Introduction

Mistral OCR reads PDFs and images, including scans, tables and handwriting, and keeps their layout as Markdown. As the file reader, it lets users ask about documents your server can’t get text from. Other file types are always read on your server.

Setting up

1

Get an API key

Sign in to the Mistral console and open API keys. Create a key and copy it.
2

Add it to Aikeedo

Go to Settings → Integrations → Mistral, paste the key into API Key, and click Save changes.
3

Choose it as the file reader

In Settings → Features → Chat, under File reading, choose Mistral OCR as the File reader. Leave Use only as fallback on to send only the files your server can’t read.

Credits and privacy

Users are charged per page at the Mistral OCR rate, under Settings → Finance → Credit ratios.
Files read by Mistral OCR are sent to Mistral. With Use only as fallback off, every PDF and image users attach is sent.
Mistral OCR also reads files added to knowledge bases.

Troubleshooting

Check that Mistral OCR is the File reader and the API key is saved. With Use only as fallback on, only files your server gets no text from are sent.
Check the key and your plan in the Mistral console.
